Top 5 Ice Cream Flavors

By: Addie Griffin

Ice cream is one of people’s favorite desserts worldwide. There are so many different flavors and toppings you can put on them. This is the top five best ice cream flavors of all time.

5. Starting off with number five we have birthday cake. This flavor is like a party in a bite. It’s super fun and colorful and tastes like vanilla ice cream with frosting and sprinkles. The only reason it’s not higher is because it can get a little sweet after a while. It is a great flavor to choose if you want something classic and festive.

4. At number four we have cookies and cream. This flavor is a classic that everyone loves. The mixture of the chocolate crunchy cookies and the sweet vanilla ice cream is simple but so good. It is the perfect combination of creamy, chewy, and sweetness. The only reason it’s not higher on the list is because it is a little basic, but that doesn’t mean it’s not delicious.

3. To start the top three flavors we have chocolate chip cookie dough. Eating chocolate chip cookie dough is already amazing as it is, but putting it in ice cream just makes it so much better. The chunks of cookie dough mixed with the vanilla ice cream is even better than cookies and cream. If you love cookies then chocolate chip cookie dough is the perfect flavor for you. The only reason this isn’t higher is because the ice cream flavor itself is only vanilla.

2. Now for the second best ice cream flavor is brownie batter. This flavor is mostly for chocolate lovers, which I am. It’s a super rich flavor that has chunks of brownie or swirls of brownie batter mixed in. If you ever wanted to eat the brownie batter right out of the bowl then brownie batter is the next best thing.

1.The number one best ice cream flavor is blueberry cheesecake. This is probably a hot take but it is my absolute favorite. It is creamy, sweet, and fruity. It has all the flavors that you could possibly want in an ice cream. The blueberry pieces give it some tartness and the cheesecake chunks make the ice cream have the perfect texture. It is the perfect blend which makes it number one on my list!

Top 5 Candy Ranking

By: Addie Griffin

Candy is one of everybody’s favorite treats. Some people like chocolate and some people prefer more sour or sweet candy. Today I will be ranking my top five favorite candies.

5. To start off we have Snickers. Snickers used to be my favorite candy but as I’ve grown older I’ve realized there are many candies like it. This is what makes it more boring than the other candies listed and less unique. However I think it is still one of the best tasting candies which is why it deserves a spot on this list.

4. Next we have gummy bears in the number four spot. Gummy bears are chewy, sweet,  and fun to eat. They come in many different colors and fruity flavors and are enjoyed by almost everyone. Gummy bears  are timeless and simple.

3.  To start off the top three spot is Reece’s. is one thing that makes them special.

The combination of the peanut butter and chocolate is smooth and delicious. They are the perfect blend of salty and sweet which is what makes this candy unique. They are a classic treat at Christmas and Easter time with the trees and the egg shaped chocolate which is another reason they are special.

2. At the number two spot is Nerds Gummy Clusters. This candy is extremely unique and mixes a combination of crunchy and chewy which many other candies do not. They also come in many different varieties and flavors which is always a plus. The crunchy nerds are tangy and sweet while the gummy inside is soft and chewy making them have so much flavor packed into one little bite.

1.Now the overall best candy is Sour Airhead Extremes. This may be considered controversial but they have all of the right things that you could want in a candy. They combine colors, flavors and textures all into one candy. Not to mention, each pack comes with a lot of them! This candy has just the right amount of sourness to make your mouth water but also just the right amount of sweetness. Every bite you take will leave you wanting more.

My Favorite Things: High School Classes

By: Addie Griffin

My classes this year are a mixture between fun and rigor. I have my top 3 hardest classes to start off my day and then my day gets a little easier from there. Today, I will be ranking my top 3 favorite classes.

To start off, my third favorite class is chemistry. Chemistry helps us understand how the world works. It shows us how everything is made up and how things combine to make up everything we see, touch, and use. Another reason I like chemistry is because Coach Mccord teaches you much more than just chemistry. He teaches you all about life and its lessons and makes you really think deeply about all kinds of things. We also do fun lab experiments and it is full of surprises. One time we did a lab and filled a balloon with hydrogen and held a flame to it. This reaction caused the balloon to burst into flames. This is why chemistry is one of my favorite classes.

To continue, my second favorite class is ceramics. I began taking this class my freshman year of high school and have loved it ever since. This class lets me show my creativity through using clay. I have made countless projects and have even made money from selling them. I also love to talk to Mrs. Brown about different things and get her opinions on my pieces.  She gives us different projects to work on throughout the year and always is determined to challenge us in a fun way. She always tests my creative abilities and makes all of us work hard on our projects. This is why ceramics is one of my favorite classes.

Finally, my favorite class is Digital Media. In digital media, I get the opportunity to create videos and content with all of my friends. In this class we have a lot of freedom with what we can do and what content we would like to create. In this class my friends and I usually like to interview little kids and ask them funny questions. The freedom and creativity we get to have is what I enjoy the most about this class.

Top 5 Sodas

By: Addie Griffin

Everyone has a favorite soda, whether they want to or not, and everyone enjoys them. There are many different flavors and kinds for everyone to enjoy. Today, I will be ranking my top five favorite sodas.

5. Starting at number five is Sprite. This soda is a classic. It is very refreshing and fizzy, and the lemon-lime flavor adds the perfect amount of sweetness. Sprite is also caffeine free which can be seen as another plus. However, It can seem bland to me at times, which is why it is in the number five spot.

4. At the number four spot is Pepsi. Many people may think Pepsi doesn’t deserve a spot on this list, but I think otherwise. It is sweeter and has less fizz than Coke which I personally prefer. It is sugary and bubbly and tastes great especially paired with a burger and fries.

3. At the number three spot is Cheerwine. Cheerwine may not be as well known as Pepsi or Sprite, but I personally think it is better than both of them. It has an amazing cherry flavor that is very sweet, which I look for when drinking a soft drink. It is not easy to find everywhere, so whenever I see one I just have to get it.

2. At the number two spot is Cherry Coke. In my opinion, Cherry Coke is so much better than the original Coke that everyone loves. The cherry flavoring makes it taste fancier and gives it the sweetness that is missing from the original Coke. The cherry flavoring isn’t too little or too much, it’s the perfect refreshing amount!

1.Now for the overall best soda is Dr. Pepper. No other drink comes close to how unique and flavorful it is. It’s not like regular coke or a cherry soda, it is something completely different. Dr. Pepper is rich, sweet and bold all at once. I think it has the most flavor of any soda which is way more than just sugar and fizz. Dr. Pepper is the ultimate soda. It’s different, delicious, and always hits the spot.

Top Christmas Movies

By: Addie Griffin

Christmas movies are one of the best parts of the holiday season. They are one thing you can always count on to bring the whole family together. Today I will be ranking the top 5 christmas movies.

5. Starting off at number five is Rudolf the Rednosed Reindeer. This movie deserves to make the list because it is a famous movie that everyone loves. It is traditional and the songs are classic. However it is a bit of a slower and older movie which is why it is in the number five spot. It is perfect if you are searching for that nostalgic Christmas feel.

4. At the number four spot is How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This movie is funny for all ages and teaches us what Christmas is truly about, rather than just receiving gifts. The Grinch’s spirit at the beginning of the movie makes it a little less fun which is why it is at the fourth sport. However this movie teaches us a great lesson which is why it deserves a spot on this list.

3. Starting off the top three list is The Polar Express. This movie is magical and really puts you in the Christmas spirit. The adventures they go through make you feel like you’re in a dream. It shows how important it is to believe in Christmas even as you get older. It is not as funny as the top two, but still deserved a spot on the top three list.

2. In second place is Elf. This movie is hilarious and full of Christmas spirit. Buddy’s excitement for the holidays is contagious. No matter how many times I watch this movie, it always makes me laugh. This movie also teaches us to stay positive and to keep believing in the magic of Christmas.

1.First place obviously goes to Home Alone. This is the funniest Christmas movie and the most exciting. Kevin’s traps are so creative and watching the burglars fall for them never gets old. It has the perfect mixture of comedy and heartfelt moments, especially heartwarming when his family comes back. It reminds us Christmas is about being with the people you love no matter what animosity there might be.

Top 5: Vegatables

By: Addie Griffin

Vegetables; not everyone’s usual favorite dish, but can be a staple if you let it. There is such a wide variety of vegetables to eat, but today I will be ranking my top five favorites!

5Starting off the top five list is asparagus. It is fancy but still really good. It’s got a nice flavor that goes with everything, and it feels kind of special when you have it on your plate. It is even better whenever it has a little lemon on it.

4. At number 4 are green beans. Green beans are simple but so good. They’re crunchy and taste great with just a little salt or butter. They’re perfect for eating as a snack or adding to a meal. Green beans are just plain reliable and tasty!

3. Now starting the top 3 list is Corn. Corn is sweet and juicy. Eating corn on the cob is messy but totally worth it. My favorite way to have it is with my mashed potatoes. It’s weird I know, but it just shows how good it tastes with many different things!

2. At number two, we have broccoli!  It’s crunchy and tastes good with almost anything, especially with cheese on top. You can dip it in ranch, mix it in with your pasta, or just snack on it raw. Broccoli is one of those veggies that’s very diverse which deserves the number 2 spot!

  1. At our number one spot  we have brussels sprouts. This definitely will come to a shock to most because they are usually thought of as the worst vegetable, but they’re awesome if you give them a chance. When you roast them, they get all crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They’re like little bites of magic once you get used to them, especially if you cook them with bacon.

Top 5 Potatoes

By: Addie Griffin

Potatoes are such a diverse starch. I mean go ahead; think of all the ways you could eat potatoes. It’s a lot, right? That’s why I thought I would rank the top five ways to eat potatoes!

5. Starting off the list we have raw fries. They’re great, but only if they are cooked and seasoned well. They are even better with some vinegar on them too! Despite them being delicious, they can be easy to mess up. If they aren’t cooked properly, they can end up tasting soggy and plain. This is why they are at the number 5 spot.

4. At number four we have baked potatoes. Baked potatoes are one of my favorite foods! When you bake them, they get all soft and fluffy inside. They’re even better when you add toppings like butter, sour cream, cheese, or bacon. The only reason they are in the fourth spot is because they need these toppings to taste good, and don’t really have the best taste in their natural form.

3. Starting off our top three list, we have hashbrowns! Hashbrowns are amazing for breakfast, especially from Chick-fil-a. They are shredded up and fried until they’re crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. You can dip them in ketchup, or add toppings on top of them.  Hashbrowns are crispy, crunchy, and always delicious!

2. At number two we have mashed potato’s. They are creamy and very comforting.  They’re soft and smooth, especially with a little butter or gravy on top. They’re perfect for Thanksgiving or any big meal. You can add cheese, garlic, or seasonings to make them even more flavorful. Mashed potatoes are one of my favorite comfort foods.

1.Fries are at the number one spot for obvious reasons. Fries are the best! They’re crispy, salty, and perfect for dipping in ketchup, ranch, or any sauce you can think of. They come in all shapes, like curly or waffle fries, and every kind is delicious. Fries are a must-have with burgers, chicken tenders, or even just as a snack. They’re potatoes in the best form!

Top 5 Fruits

By: Addie Griffin

Everyone knows fruits are one of the most refreshing foods you can eat. Whether it’s by themselves, in a smoothie, or maybe covered in chocolate, they always leave you with an amazing taste in your mouth. Today I will be ranking the top five best fruits.

5. Starting off at number five, we have bananas. Bananas have a sweet taste  and almost creamy texture that makes it different from any other fruit. Not only are they delicious, but they are also rich in potassium and good for you.

4. Now at number four are peaches. Peaches are one of the most underrated fruits in my opinion. While they are usually overlooked, in a desert such as a peach cobbler they are simply unbeatable. This is exactly the reason I believe they deserve a spot on this list.

3. Starting off our top 3, we have grapes. More specifically, green grapes deserve to be in the top 3 slot. These are one of the best snacks to have especially in the heat of summer. They have an amazing flavor and a crunch like no other.

2. For the second best fruit, we have strawberries. Strawberries have a very unique texture and flavor which I feel is the reason it deserves to be on this list. They are also much more delicious when covered in chocolate, preferably dark chocolate. They are a crowd favorite loved by all which is why it is placed at number two.

1.Now for the number one spot is pineapple. Pineapple is by far the best fruit to exist. It is packed with a tangy, yet also sweet flavor that is unlike any other. With every bite comes a powerful punch that makes your lips pucker in the best way possible. It is the juiciest fruit you could imagine and always leaves you wanting more.

Top 5 Fast Food Restaurants

By: Addie Griffin

We all know that while you’re on a family road trip or on the way home from a game, all you want to do is get to where you’re going as quickly as possible. There is no time to sit down at a restaurant, but no one wants to go hungry, right?  The solution to this is fast food and today, I will be ranking the top 5 best fast food restaurants.

5.Starting off with number five is Sonic.

This could be a controversial choice considering most people don’t particularly love Sonic, but I believe it deserves a spot on this list. Sonic has amazing milkshakes and slushies which makes getting sweet treats fast and easy.

The mozzarella sticks also deserve an honorable mention and might even be some of the best I’ve ever had. The only downside is how expensive Sonic is and how slow service can be.

4.At number four we have Mcdonald’s. Some people think McDonald’s is overrated, but I think otherwise. Mcdonald’s is open all twenty four hours of the day which makes it a great option for a midnight snack -particularly the fries, which are some of the best in the fast food industry. However, Mcdonald’s can be very slow sometimes and this is why it is at number four.

3.Now for number three we have Chick-fil-a. This may cause an uproar, as many people would probably expect this to be at number one. While I think that Chick-fil-a is very good, I don’t think they have enough options and this is why I am putting it at number three.

2.For the second best fast food restaurant, we have Zaxbys. Zaxbys deserves the number two spot because of the amount of options they have as a fast food restaurant. As someone who goes to zaxbys often, I have tried a lot of their food, and I have enjoyed every single thing I have gotten. Zaxbys is also relatively inexpensive which is another great thing about it.

1.Now in the number one spot is Canes. All that is served at Canes is not even in competition with other fast food restaurants. Their chicken is some of the best I have ever had from any restaurant, not even just fast food restaurants. The food along with the unbeatable Canes Sauce is what makes everyone love this restaurant so much.

Top 5 Appetizers

By: Addie Griffin

Everyone loves a little something before dinner time. Whether it is finger food, or a simple soup or salad, there is an appetizer for everyone. Today I will be ranking the top five best appetizers known to man.

5. Starting off at number five, we have a side salad. A salad is a much lighter option than most of the other appetizers that we are used to, which is why I think it deserves a spot on this list. It gives us something to munch on to hold us over, while still leaving room for our main course.

4.  At number four, we have bread sticks. This is a controversial rating as many people love breadsticks- specifically from Olive Garden- however, I think they are slightly overrated. With all this being said, I think they still deserve a spot above salad because of their flavorful taste that salad lacks.

3. Now starting off our top three is chips and queso. This classic appetizer is hard to beat, especially if it is from our local restaurant Mariachi’s. This appetizer is more than the chips and queso itself, it is also the conversations that are had and the people that surround you while eating it. Some of my favorite memories have been made whilst eating this delicious combination.

2. At the number two spot is no other than mozzarella sticks. If you take any “sit down” restaurant, I can almost guarantee they will have mozzarella sticks. This is because mozzarella sticks are a crowd favorite and loved by all. The garlic taste of the breading combined with the juicy stretchy cheese is a flavor burst like no other.

1.Finally the long awaited number one spot goes to no other than fried pickles. This is a very controversial pick, especially at number one.  This is because if you don’t enjoy pickles, then you most likely hate them. However I am far from one of those people. The thin crispy breading combined with the tanginess of the pickle preferably dipped in buttermilk ranch is unbeatable, in my opinion. Forget an appetizer, I could eat fried pickles as my main course!
