King Of Hearts Concert

By: Hannah-Grace Hagood

If you like Christian music, the Brandon Lake “King Of Hearts” concert is the right one for you. It starts with Franni Cash and her amazing voice. After Franni Cash, Brandon Lake comes in and sings songs like “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” “Graves Into Gardens,” and “That’s Who I Praise.” My personal  favorite being “That’s Who I Praise.” Lets just say I lost my voice a little bit and my hearing no longer existed. Every now and then Brandon Lake read verses from the Bible that related to certain songs and prayed which I thought was fun. However, I would not recommend this concert if you do not like flashing lights and loud noises; right as the concert started the lights were flashing and the music was loud. At the beginning of the concert, they give you bracelets that light up and flash at a certain time during the concert.

As a person who plays guitar, I can personally say it was amazing. Brandon Lake is also from South Carolina, which I found interesting because I am too. The concert started at 7 and ended at 11 so I was so tired after. I slept on the car ride home. However, it was hard to sleep with all of the songs I had stuck in my head; I still have some songs stuck in my head. Overall, the concert was a ten out of ten for me and I would love to go to another one. So if this sounds interesting to you, I would definitely recommend going to the “King Of Hearts” concert; unless you do not like loud noises and flashing lights. Other than that, I would one hundred percent recommend going and checking his tour dates and places. It was one of the best concerts I have ever gone to.

Bowling Team Needs More Recognition

By: Hannah-Grace Hagood

Is it just me, or does the bowling team not get enough credit? The Wilson Hall Girl’s Bowling Team won the state championship in 2023 and people continue to think bowling is not a sport but chess is. Like what? Not only does bowling require actual physical work, but it helps with your hand-to-eye coordination by throwing the bowling ball on your mark because if you do not look at your mark, you will miss it. Sure chess requires mental work, but it certainly is not a sport. According to Oxford Languages, the definition of a sport is “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment,” emphasis  on the “physical.” We win championships and hardly even get recognized. We buy multiple bowling balls, take care of our bowling balls, practice (sometimes all summer), have tournaments, and what do we get? A single announcement on the morning announcements, if we’re lucky. Not to mention the fact that most people only join the bowling team to get a PE credit or have some sort of athletics on their college application like bowling is just an easy credit. People say bowling takes no skill or effort, you’re just rolling a ball down a lane, how hard could it be; and to that I say “Ok, go bowl a 300 game if it’s so easy,”  “Stop trash talking bowling and go bowl a perfect game if it takes no brain power.” What I find hilarious is when people say bowling is easy and then they actually try it and throw it in the gutter half of the time. In my opinion, and most of the other team member’s opinions, bowling should get more recognition, and should be treated like the actual sport it is.

 Sonic Pickle Slush Review

By: Hannah-Grace Hagood

Right off the bat, the Sonic Pickle Slush looks like toxic waste. It has pickle boba pearls, pickle slush, and a slightly spicy pickle on top (which is gross). When I tried it I immediately gagged because of the texture and the sour, bitter taste. Then I tried the boba and it was neon green, the taste was 10 times worse than the slush. It was like someone infused boba with pickle juice and let it marinate for a few days. Then here comes the pickle on top, first of all why would you put a pickle on top of a slushie? It was slightly spicy and I don’t know why, no one told me it was SPICY!! Like what? Overall the slushie was awful and I will not be getting it again, 0/10.
