Should the Cardinals Bench Kyler Murray

By: Henry Jones

What can I even say at this point? The Cardinals are the best, worst team I have ever witnessed. We truly figure out a new way to lose every week. If you were to add up all the points we’ve lost by, it would add up to 13. 13 points! This team is tragic and I’d rather watch cheese get moldy over a period of time than watch us play in the 4th quarter. We need to fire Petzing and fire Gannon. Both of them run 4 tight end formations which makes our stud receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. look like a bum. I know he is good. Whenever I turn on the TV regardless of what day it is, I know for a fact I will be disappointed. Overall, Jacoby Brisset has been slinging it. Our offense has been more electric than I have seen in the past couple of years and I think he fits our gameplan more than Kyler. However, while this is true, I think the real problem lies with the offensive coordinator. I think with a quarterback who I believe has not reached his ceiling yet, a team needs a coordinator that can allow a quarterback as athletic as he is to spread his wings. This being said, if we were to receive an offer for Murray before the deadline that is suitable, I wouldn’t be mad. Don’t get me wrong I’m one of Kyler’s biggest supporters, but I want to see him go somewhere that fits his scheme and will allow him to ball out. I just don’t think that place is Arizona. So regarding the topic of benching, I think when he returns he should get the starting job back to prove his worth and play some winning football.

What are the Top 5 Foods of All Time

By: Henry Jones

There are many opinions on the top 5 lists out there. People think that they can’t be factual, but I disagree. The great thing about my top 5 lists is that they are always right and no one can debate me on any topic. Anyways my top five food rankings go like this : any type of pasta at the one, steak at the two, a breakfast meal at the three, grilled cheese burritos from Taco Bell at the four, and grilled nuggets from Chick Fil A rounding it out at the five.

If you know me then you know I love Italian foods. My favorite kind of pasta is preferably chicken alfredo, but I will still devour any pasta style foods. I mean, it is just so hard to mess up even when my younger brother makes it for dinner every now and then. Next, steak is a gimme pick. Who doesn’t love a good steak? Medium rare or even medium are the only ways to go, but I will save that blog for when I really am desperate for a 100 in the grade book. Next, is a solid breakfast meal. There is a reason they claim breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If it is done right it’ll set the mood for the rest of the time you’re awake. Next, is a grilled cheese burrito from the one and only Taco Bell. It’s a bit of a niche pull for those who know, however don’t knock it ‘till you try it. I used to be a big T-Bell hater until I figured out about this hidden gem. Safe to say it destroys my bank account any time I’m hungry. Last but not least is grilled nuggets. I recently got put onto these and let me say that I’m very glad. My pre game football meal used to be Chipotle, but I’ve made the transition. The macros these give you in such a small amount is criminally unrecognized and needs more attention.

NFL Super Bowl Prediction

By: Henry Jones

After a long summer break off of cranking out entertaining blogs for everyone in the digital media class, I have had time to refresh my thoughts on my ground breaking sports takes. Which means I am ready to drop more predictions on major sports events such as the Super Bowl. My first prediction of the year is a bold one. Normally I would show bias and say that the Arizona Cardinals (my favorite team) would be taking home the hardware this year, but new year new me. I do believe Cardinals have a good chance at winning the division, the offense just isn’t fully there yet. Now, there are many teams I feel have a shot at the Super Bowl this year. One is the winners of last year, the Philadelphia Eagles. They are still a very strong team despite losing key pieces on defense. Another team, as always, is the Kansas City Chiefs. In my opinion, any team with Patrick Mahomes at the helm is a Super Bowl contender cause he is a straight dog. A negative about this team is Travis Kelce recently getting engaged to that witch, Taylor Swift. Whenever they started dating she stole all his talent and turned him into some hermit crab. Finally, I truly believe that the New York Jets have a real shot this year at the Super Bowl. They have two up and coming offensive linemen and two stud running backs. Also with the addition of Justin Fields they have very solid quarterback play that they haven’t had in multiple years. In conclusion, with the adding of all these new, young pieces, I’d be willing to bet the life of Milling Galloway that the Jets will be taking home the gold this year. This is easy money.

Why is Everyone Suddenly Moving to SC?

By: Henry Jones

While I believe that South Carolina is a great state to live in, I wish it wasn’t so great that everybody suddenly wants to move here. From an outsider’s point of view however, there are many tempting reasons. One of them is the mild climate we have. South Carolina has a generally mild climate, with warm summers and mild winters. It’s particularly appealing to those wanting to escape harsh winter weather in the North. Also, we have an affordable cost of living and various tax benefits. Compared to many other states, South Carolina offers a lower cost of living, especially in terms of housing, which is attractive to people looking to save money or get more for their dollar. While on the topic of taxes, South Carolina has some tax advantages, such as no tax on Social Security benefits for retirees, which makes it appealing for those looking to retire comfortably. Next of course are the sunny beaches. The state is home to popular coastal destinations like Charleston, Hilton Head Island, and Myrtle Beach, making it a great spot for people who enjoy beach life. Another one of my favorites is the amazing food. South Carolina is famous for its Southern cuisine, especially barbecue and lowcountry specialties like shrimp and grits. The state also has a rich cultural heritage with music, festivals, and a vibrant arts scene. Another thing that might look good to some people are the southern hospitality and rich culture. With its rich history, South Carolina offers beautiful historic towns and cities, particularly Charleston, which is known for its cobblestone streets, historic homes, and Civil War landmarks. South Carolina also is known for its friendly atmosphere, slower pace of life, and strong sense of community. Many people appreciate the laid-back lifestyle and strong family-oriented values. In conclusion, South Carolina is such an appealing state to many due to various reasons.

How Crucial is Ohtani to the Dodgers Success this Year?

By: Henry Jones

The Los Angeles Dodgers enter the 2025 MLB season with high expectations following their 2024 World Series championship. Analysts project the Dodgers to achieve a remarkable 104.5 wins, the highest preseason win total since at least 1990. The Dodgers also made many off season pick ups by adding Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki to their bullpen. Sensational player Shohei Ohtani is also coming back from arm injury and will be able to pitch this year. The Dodgers’ lineup remains formidable, featuring stars like Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Teoscar Hernández. The addition of Hyeseong Kim from the KBO adds depth to the infield. The Dodgers are heavily favored to repeat as World Series champions, with odds of +250, reflecting their strong roster and successful offseason. While the Dodgers’ roster is exceptionally strong, the unpredictable nature of baseball means that success is never guaranteed. However, the combination of a deep roster, strategic acquisitions, and high expectations positions the Dodgers as strong contenders for the 2025 season. Also, Shohei is projected to win the National League MVP. This is not a shocker to most people due to his ability to make big plays at the plate and be a reliable starting pitcher. Assuming he stays healthy (a big factor for any prediction), Ohtani’s two-way success will continue to set him apart from the rest of the league. There could be some load management for his pitching, especially given his dual role, but as he continues to push boundaries, the Dodgers may work with him to ensure his longevity while still maximizing his impact both at the plate and on the mound. Also, his hitting will probably maintain his offensive production at an elite level. After a strong 2024 season, he will continue to be a powerful presence in the lineup, hitting over 40 home runs and driving in around 100 RBIs. His batting average could hover around .270-.280, with his on-base and slugging percentages remaining among the best in the league. Expect him to also be a consistent threat on the base paths, stealing around 10-15 bases. While some people say the Dodgers already have enough stars to win it without Ohtani, I believe he is such a generational player that they just couldn’t achieve greatness without him.

Who Will Win The Super Bowl?

By: Henry Jones

The Super Bowl trophy is one of the most coveted awards in all of sports. Some would eve say that it is the greatest accomplishment. This upcoming Super Bowl will definitely be a great matchup between two formidable teams. If I’m being honest I really don’t want either of them to win because I hate the Chiefs and the Eagles. It’s a tough call, but if I had to guess, I’d say it could be a close game. The Eagles have a strong, well-rounded team with a solid defense and an explosive offense. But the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, and he’s always a threat. If Mahomes stays healthy and plays at his best, the Chiefs might have the edge. But overall, it could go either way depending on how the game plays out.

The Eagles could win the Super Bowl because they have a really strong all-around team. Their defense is tough and able to put pressure on quarterbacks, which could be a key factor against the Chiefs. Their offense is also high-powered, with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley playing at an MVP-level, and they have great weapons like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Plus, the Eagles have a strong offensive line that helps with both the running and passing game, making it tough for any defense to stop them. If they play solid, mistake-free football and control the line of scrimmage, they could come out on top.

On the other hand the Chiefs could win the Super Bowl because they have Patrick Mahomes, one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and he can make incredible plays under pressure. Even when things aren’t going perfectly, Mahomes can turn a game around with his arm and playmaking ability. On top of that, the Chiefs have an explosive offense with weapons like Travis Kelce, who is a big mismatch for any defense. Their defense has also stepped up in key moments, and if they can limit mistakes and take advantage of their opportunities, they could definitely win. Mahomes’ ability to perform in clutch moments is a huge reason they might come out on top.

Will TikTok get Banned

By: Henry Jones

As of January 2025, the question of whether TikTok will get is still uncertain. However, there are multiple factors that could make a difference in the final outcome. To begin, TikTok has faced scrutiny in multiple countries, particularly the United States, due to concerns over its data collection practices and its ties to China. Governments have raised alarms about the possibility of the Chinese government accessing user data, leading to national security concerns. Also, several U.S. states and other countries have already banned TikTok on government-issued devices for security reasons. There have also been discussions in Congress about a potential nationwide ban, however, no sweeping federal ban has been implemented yet, and legal challenges would likely make such a move complex. In TikTok’s defense they have worked to address security concerns by shifting its data storage practices. For example, the company has started storing some U.S. user data in the U.S. and Europe, in an effort to mitigate concerns about Chinese government access. They have aslo made efforts to demonstrate transparency by establishing independent oversight boards and opening up their operations to external audits. These measures aim to show regulators that they are addressing concerns about user privacy and content moderation.

In terms of how it will effect the users of the app, Banning TikTok would have economic and cultural repercussions, especially for creators, businesses, and advertisers who rely on the platform. It has become a global  force, with millions of active users and a significant influence on entertainment, trends, and social media marketing. In conclusion, the possibility of TikTok being banned is still a subject of debate, it faces significant legal, political, and economic challenges. Whether TikTok gets banned will largely depend on the political climate, national security concerns, and ongoing efforts by the company to address regulatory issues. However, given the app’s massive global influence and user base, it’s also possible that governments might choose to regulate TikTok more heavily rather than implement an outright ban. While a TikTok ban isn’t off the table, it’s also not a certainty in 2025, and the outcome will likely depend on a mix of political, legal, and diplomatic factors. In my opinion, I don’t think it will get banned, but mostly because I want it to stay.

Who Will Win the CFP?

By: Henry Jones

This year, with the introduction of the twelve team playoffs, the race to the beloved National Championship is more exciting than ever. The favorites to win right now are Oregon and Ohio State. They each have a sixteen percent chance to win. While this isn’t very high, it adds a sense of suspense between the race. Other teams like Clemson, Arizona State, and SMU are seen as dark horses to make a run. This new playoff format is almost comparable to College Basketball during March Madness. Meaning that any team has a chance to upset anybody because all of these teams have very strong teams. A team I am looking forward to making it all the way to the chip are the Boise State Broncos. With their stud running back, Ashton Jeanty, and their strong fanbase I believe they have a chance to go all the way. The only doubt I have is whenever they go against an extremely strong defense such as Oregon or Georgia. Each team has a very elite run defense and it will be interesting to see how Boise State’s run heavy offense performs against us. Another thing that may prove to be a problem is their quarterback. Maddox Madsen is a very mid level quarterback who piggybacks off of Jeanty all season long. Another matchup I will be waiting to watch is Arizona State versus Penn State. Penn State is one of the most overrated teams every year and I will be watching to see how they try to stop Arizona State’s breakout star running back Cam Skatebbo. To end, in my opinion I think that if Carson Beck stays out of the quarterback position and their stud sophomore backup stays in the game, there is no team that will beat a locked in Georgia team.

Is The NFL Biased?

After the NFL recently released its most recent MVP rankings list, I have decided there might be some credibility to the fans of the NFL that think it is scripted. The list has Josh Allen number one, Lamar Jackson number two, Jared Goff number three, Jalen Hurts number four, and Patrick Mahomes number five. Now I really don’t have a big problem with the first three. I think they are all interchangeable. The one thing that really makes me wonder if the NFL is scripted or not is the fact that Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes are the four and five. While I do think Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback we have seen in the past decade, this does not excuse the fact that for most of the year he has had more interceptions than touchdowns. He still barely has more touchdowns now and we are in week twelve. Also, do not even get me started on Jalen Hurts. I can not stand how corny he is and how he always tries to drop inspirational quotes after they lose , but when will they end. They went from being 11-0 at the start of the year last year to being 8-2 on a cupcake schedule. They are not a playoff team and the reason is Jalen Hurts. He is not even projected to have four thousand passing yards which is really the bare minimum at this point for an average quarterback. Another problem I have with the NFL is how they will never include Kyler Murray in any conversations. He is for sure a top 5 quarterback this year based on stats and since the MVP is a quarterback award they might as well include him. He does sit sixth in the MVP voting, but I think a top three finish for him will give him the fire he needs to have to carry the team to a Super Bowl next season.

Can the Cardinals Continue their Hot Streak

Usually whenever I write, I am bringing bias into my blogs because, if I’m being honest, the Cardinals have not been that good. Now however, I am glad to say that the Cardinals are back. We actually have a winning record of 5-4 and have only lost one game in their division. Kyler Murray haters are in shambles as he has been playing at an elite level and has the second best odds to win the Comeback Player of the Year award. Marvin Harrison Jr. is fourth in receiving yards for rookies and tied for first with receiving touchdowns. I truly do believe he could be a lot farther ahead than his competition, but Kyler Murray struggles to get him the ball because the other teams make him a focus point to their defense and always have an extra guy or two to play coverage on him. When Marvin isn’t open however, we have out stud of a tight end, Trey McBride, to catch the ball. Unlike any other tight end I’ve ever seen, McBride can make insane plays after getting the ball. I see clips of him dodging defenders and jumping over players while he is strutting into the endzone.

The only thing that I have to talk bad about is our defense. Our secondary have been surprisingly good and our star safety Budda Baker is second in the entire league for tackles. The thing that makes me mad is our defensive line. With our first round pick, Darius Robinson being injured for the starting weeks of the season, we really have no good, standout players on our line providing pressure. To wrap it up, I truly believe that we will continue our win streak and make it to the playoffs. Though we may not make a far run, we will definitely make an attempt.
