My POV on the Carolina Wildfires

Tyler Jordan

I’m going to be talking this week about 2 of the bigger Carolinas Wildfires and tell you about how they went.

The first wildfire I went to was the Covington Lake fire in Myrtle Beach, SC. My Sandhill Fire Department got mobilzed. We went down on a saturday morning and won’t return till wednesday of the next week. When we got there and got checked in we got sent on an assignment. From that point on we were working 24 hour shifts and resting about 6 hours then working again. We worked alongside Lugoff FD , Howe Springs FD, Pickens FD. Our group worked amazingly together and we were able to stop fire from spreading into this big area. These long nights and days were a killer but worth it.

The second fire I went to was the Table Rock Complex fire. This was a massive fire that’s still going. It’s roughly 13k acres big and only 30% contained at this time. We went to this one on a friday and came back on monday. Almost the same as the Myrtle Beach fires time as we got there we got sent on assignments. We worked through the whole first night and next day then finally rested for about 5 hours and then went back to work. We were on the frontline fighting fires and climbing the mountains to extinguish the fire. These were very long days walking 5-10 miles and runnin off energy drinks and not sleeping well.

Although these fires were a lot of work and effort I wouldn’t have not gone now. The connections I made with outside people and new Fire Departments and some of the bonds made I wouldn’t change that experience for anything. I also would like to say none of this could have happened without community and brothership from around the state to help these people out in unfortunate times

Flying Cars?

By:Tyler Jordan

Once called an unreal event , flying automobiles are now becoming a hot topic of discussion and interest. Although it may seem exciting to fly over traffic, I am adamantly opposed to their widespread use. Even with the latest advances in technology, flying automobiles still pose too many risks to be deemed safe or useful for daily use. To start by thinking about the safety issues. Even though they happen infrequently, aviation accidents nowadays are significantly more devastating than auto accidents. New laws, structures, and completely different safety procedures would be needed for the start of flying automobiles; they may take decades to develop. The risk of flying cars outweighs any potential advantages unless we can guarantee that they are as safe as conventional cars. Another issue is how complicated flying is. Most people are not trained pilots, and flying is far more difficult than driving on the ground. The possibility of human error whether due to weather, technical malfunctions, or bad judgment becomes a significant concern even with strong autopilot systems. The thought of inexperienced individuals operating vehicles through congested airspace is extremely scary, and even a minor error may have devastating consequences. Then there is the traffic problem. Flying cars would cause a completely different kind of traffic if they were allowed to operate in urban areas. Consider an airport with thousands of cars pushing for access like airplanes. It is horrifying to consider having to deal with flying debris or collisions in populated locations. It’s hard to think that traffic control would be handled any better in the air when we’re already having trouble with it on the ground.Lastly, it is impossible to overlook the effects on the environment. Flying automobiles would demand a huge amount of energy, and the environmental impact might be disastrous unless we can create clean, environmentally friendly energy sources. In the end , flying cars may seem like a step into the future, but the potential dangers far outweigh the benefits. Until we can ensure safety, environmental responsibility, and effective regulation, they should be a project. I personally don’t like the idea of them or foresee them coming around in full effect in my lifetime. There’s so much you have to learn to operate and control them and how to go about controlling air traffic.

Reasons for the Kansas City Chiefs’ Victory in Super Bowl LVIII

By Tyler Jordan

As anticipation for Super Bowl LVIII grows, the Kansas City Chiefs are in a position to create history once more. The Chiefs have everything they need for another championship run, including an outstanding roster, a head coach with a clear vision, and a starting quarterback who is rapidly claiming his place among the greatest in football history.

Patrick Mahomes is the dog behind Kansas City’s success. Perhaps the NFL’s most captivating player is who is currently MVP of the Super Bowl. He stands out from other quarterbacks due to their capacity to execute accurate throws from any platform under pressure. Mahomes is almost tough to defend because of his strategic skills, arm power, and mobility. Very few teams can match the Chiefs advantage under Mahomes’ leadership.

Also It is impossible to overestimate Andy Reid’s impact on the The Chiefs, one of the most successful and highly regarded coaches in NFL history. The foundation of Reid’s creative offensive strategies is flexibility and unpredictableness, which keeps opposition defenders guessing. The Chiefs’ success may be attributed in large part to its ability to adapt and make judgments during play that create scoring opportunities.

Additionally, Reid has constantly readied his squad for the most important situations. With his leadership skills and coaching experience in several Super Bowls, the Chiefs are prepared to manage pressure when it counts most.

The Chiefs have a roster full of talented players on both sides of the ball, even though Mahomes frequently takes center stage. One of the greatest tight ends of all time, Travis Kelce, is still Mahomes’ top target because he can cause mismatches everywhere on the field. With their big-play potential, the Chiefs’ wide receivers, such as Marquez Valdes-Scantling and the quick and elusive Kadarius Toney, put pressure on defenses.

Kansas City has improved in recent seasons on defense. The Chiefs can cause turnovers and disrupt opposing quarterbacks with players like Chris Jones leading the charge in the trenches. In addition to its offensive prowess, this well-rounded club can make game-changing plays on defense just as well.

Overall I say the Chiefs will win because they are used to this environment and have the coaching and players that can handle this stressful game.

John Deere Pickup Review

By: Tyler Jordan

John Deere, a name known for high-quality agricultural machinery, is about to make big moves in the automotive world with the upcoming release of its new pickup truck. This bold move is exciting not only for fans of the brand but also for anyone who appreciates modern technology, rugged heavy duty  performance, and a sleek interior and exterior  design in their vehicles. The John Deere pickup promises to offer all of these qualities, combining the brand’s heritage in tough, dependable equipment with a modern vehicle that stands out in today’s competitive pickup market.

One of the most striking features of the new John Deere pickup is its powerful engine options. With a 3.5 liter hybrid making 450 hp and 800 ft pounds of torque and a 4.5 litre inline 6 turbo diesel making 600 hp and 1000 ft pound of torque. With a focus on performance and durability, the truck is built to handle heavy workloads and tough terrain, much like the brand’s signature tractors and farming equipment. This makes it an ideal choice for farmers, ranchers, and anyone who requires a vehicle that can handle the demands. But the truck will have enough power to play around the farm. The truck promises exceptional towing capacity, off-road capabilities, and fuel efficiency, offering a powerhouse designed to get the job done.

Another standout feature of the John Deere pickup is its technology. As we’ve come to expect from John Deere’s agricultural machinery, the truck incorporates advanced tech to enhance the driving experience. Features like adaptive cruise control, a smart info system, and integrated GPS make the vehicle not just a tool for work, but a comfortable and connected ride for everyday use since it will have a built suspension and can get air ride to.

I’m particularly excited about this new release, as I’ve always been a fan of John Deere’s commitment to quality and innovation. The pickup truck promises to embody the same durability and reliability that the brand has been known for in farming equipment for decades. I appreciate the mechanical and engineering thought behind the truck’s design and the seamless integration of both work-oriented and recreational features. As someone who values performance, reliability, John Deere pickup is something I’m looking forward to. It feels like the perfect fusion of ruggedness and modern luxury, and I can’t wait to see it come out although it’s going to have a hefty price tag of around 60k. But even then, I’m still extremely happy to see John Deere advancing in the automotive world.

Was This Even a Fight?

By: Tyler Jordan

This past weekend, the biggest Boxing fight happened with over 60 MIllion viewers watching on netflix. Jake Paul (10-1) vs one of the best ever Mike Tyson( 50-6) but was it worth watching and paying for it. In my opinion, it wasn’t because the fights before were 10 times better, but I’ll  break it down round by round and tell you what i think.

Round 1- They both started off slow playing passive and werent really throwing many punches and wasting energy which i thought was smart especially when Mike tyson is almost 60 he needs to save energy.

Round 2- Jake Paul came out more aggressive landing some good punches and started wearing out Mike which is smart that he didn’t waste all his energy tho.

Round 3-  They  both came out with a little more energy, but Mike found out he doesn’t have it like he used to and wore out quickly allowing Paul to lay some hard hits.

Round 4- They both went back passive but Paul was still laying some punches down beating on Tyson.

Round 5-  Tyson came out strong to start and guess what ran out of energy again allowing paul to beat up on him.

Round 6-  They both played passive just trying to save energy.

Round 7- Tyson came out swinging and landed some nasty punches but it was too late.

Round 8- Paul came out passive aggressive and finally defeated the legend Tyson

The judges came to the unanimous decision that Jake Paul won.

Personally, I think it was a waste of time and money to watch it. It wasn’t near as good as anyone thought and was a cuddling match when not fighting. And Jake Paul may have won but there 40 years apart I hope he could have beaten him.

Is Betting a Bad Addiction?

By: Tyler Jordan

Betting has been around for decades but recently betting has skyrocketed. Many people are betting on anything and everything. But is it worth it to start betting?  Studies show that people struggle with Gambling it can stimulate the brain’s reward system much like drugs or alcohol can, leading to addiction. If you have a problem with compulsive gambling, you may continually chase bets that lead to losses, use up savings and create debt. You may hide your behavior and even turn to theft or fraud to support your addiction.

Is it a good way to make money though? Some people say yes some say no but the people making money usually are invested in whatever they bet on and do research on the subject of the matter. Many people say tho “Although possible, it’s very unlikely and incredibly rare. Most sports bettors lose money, and often. So although earning a lucrative profit in sports betting can occur rather quickly, it’s not likely. The way to make money sports betting is through the long haul, a marathon if you will. It can be very lucrative but you have to use smart judgment and know when to pull out of bets and know when to go all in.Main thing just people say is do your research.

My opinion on betting is that I don’t like it. I personally think I would keep putting money in and not be lucrative and get addicted to gambling and lose all my money. It would just be smarter for me if I stayed away from all the gambling and gambling can create other bad addictions which I don’t want. I think many people will agree betting is not worth the risk and can cause so many problems in life.

Electric or Nah?

BY: TYLER JORDAN

Many people personally hate all the new electric cars and so they are more charming than most people think. Although I am against electric vehicles, I am going to show a little of both sides. First I am going to talk about the pros and cons of them. The biggest one is electric cars reduce emissions and they don’t pollute the air which is a good thing. Second, they don’t require as much maintenance as normal cars. And they are”fuel efficient” with being charged at 100% they range from 250 to 400 miles to “empty”.

Now some of the cons: First off, most electric cars batteries are horrendous and cause great hazards to the victim and first responders since they like to blow up. They are also so expensive, some ranging near 50 thousand dollars which I think is ridiculous. They say it cuts down on admission  but that’s not completely true. You see what the battery has to have in it. A battery need nickel-cobalt-aluminum cathodes and lithium-iron-phosphate cathodes, which all this stuff is a natural resources and will run out eventually but also this products have to be dug out the ground and guess what does that heavy equipment which takes gas and burns of carbon monoxide. So although your car may be “ efficient emissions” just think what it takes to make your battery car. Also the prices on these electric cars are ridiculous. No battery car with a full surveillance system should be near 100 thousand dollars when the battery cost 50% of it. Another big con is autopilots now just think if your car can drive itself then what if somebody hacked your car and went on a rampage. Auto pilot is still very new and still very deadly with all the mishaps in it. I would never put my life in the hands of a computer system. This is just my side on this many people are back and forth on this but i’m telling you electric cars are going to be a big mistake.

All New Electric Dodge Charger

By: Tyler Jordan

When everyone thinks of dodge they thing of the charger and the challenger. Well 2024 was the last year they made gas vehicles of them both. In 2025 they will be coming out with the brand new all elctric versions of them. Dodge themselves said”This next generation is set to deliver more thrills that surpass legendary V8 performance. With 670 horsepower, the Charger Daytona Scat Pack is expected to target 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and target a 1/4 mile in 11.5 seconds”.

The charger Daytona is going to feature 2 335 HP electric motors and it will be all wheel drive and estimated 627 lb-ft of instant torque. The rear motor houses a  limited slip differential to minimize slipping. Also they are adding in Line Lock for burnouts and Launch Control for the perfect start off the line and not to be spinning out of control. The Charger Daytona 100.5 kWh high-voltage batterys is going to achieve optimal performance therefore dogde says the batteries need the best materials. That’s why the Charger Daytona lithium-ion based battery features a nickel cobalt aluminum chemistry. This high-voltage battery delivers a initial peak of 550 kW of power and sustains over 500 kW of power to the electric motors for a full 1/4 mile.Dodge is also stepping up the suspension by putting a multi link suspension in the front allowing better camber and protection since its going to be aluminum.Dodge is also putting regenerative brakes in mean when you use the brakes it will charbe the car slightly back up.

The car will have a charge of 240 miles fully charged and takes 2 hours to fully charge back up. Do you think this car starting at 60k msrp is worth it? Personally im not a big fan of the electric cars but the world is evolving so we will have to see if its worth it or not.

Caterpillar truck?

By: Tyler Jordan

Caterpillar this year has introduced a new truck coming. When people think of “Cat” or caterpillar many people think of the big dump trucks, excavators, and heavy machinery.

But this year, caterpillar surprised everyone with this new truck. Cat is teaming up with Ford on this project. The body of the truck will be based on the F-150 chassis and a few other components. They are planning on releasing three variants of the truck. One is straight gas, next is a hybrid between gas and electric, and last is a fully electric truck. The gas variant is supposed to have the 5.0 liter V-8 supercharged engine that is a replica of the ford mustang coyote motor. Caterpillar says they plan to expand on engine variants throughout the designing process. Although it has that very nice engine the truck they say is meant for work related stuff. They plan on having the starting price for the base model of the truck to be around 40k so they can keep up with all the other big name industries and have a competitive market.

Personally I could see this truck being really good. Caterpillar has an outstanding reputation with their company and teaming up with Ford Motor Company is big because both have been in the mechanic services for decades. I hope to see this truck come to the market soon. It looks really nice, but nice isn’t the only thing I hope this truck is reliable. I feel that almost everything mechanical wise is upgraded to some extent. But it is still in the early development stages and isn’t supposed to be released till mid 2025 so a lot can change from now to then. BUt overall I think the Caterpillar truck will be a solid truck and will be in competition with the other big brands on the market. And it will be unique to see a Caterpillar truck around the world.
