Walt Disney World

By: Olivia Cogswell

Walt Disney was where the beginning of animation came to be. This industry was the first to begin filming movies in animation, and opened up a whole new type of entertainment for everyone of all ages. Now many of these types of movies hold memories for those who grew up enjoying them, and usually come back up when trying to watch a movie for the night. However some do rank higher than others.

Wreck it Ralph comes in last. Although this movie shows much creativity with the story line, with the transformation of the main character Ralph from being a “bad guy” to finding good. It also has a tone of memorable characters, and goes into something unlike any other movie and explores the inside of video games. The voices and animation are also very vibrant and entertaining to watch. However it is not a classic movie that people tend to want to watch over and over. Many disney movies have so much more life lessons and musical entertainment compared to this one, which is why Wreck it Ralph comes in last.

The Little Mermaid comes in third. This movie has a great story to tell. It follows a girl who wants to follow her heart and explore the world which many viewers can relate to. This movie also has songs that people of all ages have heard and know, like “Under the Sea” and “Part of your world.” However this classic movie does not rank higher because of how much Disney has improved its storytelling and animation since the making of this movie. Some may enjoy it for the fact that it is the movie they grew up watching, but there are so many more amazing movies since then, which is why this ranked third.

Beauty and the Beast comes in second. This movie tells an important message about love and looking beyond appearances. The animation of this movie is very detailed and beautiful with each of the characters having unique personalities that help the story line. It also takes a creative approach by making the silverware and candles personality that become fan favorites. This movie also has classic music that everyone knows. However this movie comes in second due to its pacing. The storyline moves very slow in the beginning which makes it hard to stay entertained.

Tangled comes in first. Rapunzel, who is the main character in this movie, is a strong and independent girl who wants to explore beyond her limits. Many young girls who watch this movie look up to her in these aspects. Also Flynn who helps her achieve her goals, adds humor which makes them an entertaining duo. While also having a good balance of humor and emotion making this movie both entertaining and touching. The animation of this movie provides so much entertainment and life. The colors are vibrant with a bunch of purples and yellows, and the lantern scene being one of the best scenes of the whole movie. It also has a very catchy soundtrack that everyone has heard before.

What is the Best Streaming Service

By: Braelen Lewis

Netflix - App on Amazon Appstore

What is the best streaming service is a pretty hard question to answer because of the price and variety of shows. Of course the streaming services that are in the debate of the best are Netflix, amazon prime, Hulu, or HBO Max. Some people argue that it’s Netflix due to the good originals they make and others argue that it’s the cheaper price that makes it so enjoyable but in my opinion Netflix is not the best because it doesn’t have a large selection of shows like other platforms. Others argue that HBO is the best because of the great originals that it has like Game of Thrones and many others but in my eyes it is too expensive and although it has the good originals it doesn’t have access to a lot of the larger shows. Amazon Prime in my eyes falls short to number two on my list because although it costs quite a bit it has almost every show and movie that the others have with the addition of many great originals like Invincible. It falls to my number two however because yes they have almost every show available to watch a lot of the good ones cost extra to either rent or buy the rights to watch it. My number one streaming service is Hulu because although it doesn’t have many good originals they have like every show and movie available and I know that it isn’t really fair to the other services but Hulu is connected with Disney Plus and HBO, so you can pay extra and watch everything available on Hulu while also having access to every Disney piece and HBO originals. Although technically not everyone that has Hulu has access to HBO and Disney since it is an option through the app I’m counting it. This is why Hulu is the best choice for all new gen’s when it comes to deciding which streaming service to buy this is due to the fact that people could save so much money by just watching shows through Hulu with the addition of the add ons this would make it where people won’t have to waste money on other streaming services.

Ranking Older Kid’s Movies

By: Lucy Buxton

Top Five Best “Older” Children’s Movies

Instead of ranking my “top songs”, I will be rating my top five best “older” children’s movies. Again, In no specific order, along with some fun facts about each film.

On June twenty-second of nineteen fifty-five, Disney released an absolute masterpiece, “Lady and the Tramp”. The main characters are Lady, a “high class’ Cocker Spaniel and Jock, a rough Scottish Terrier. The main action in this movie is when Lady’s owner has a baby and the attention quickly shifts from Lady to the new baby. Lady ends up lost on the street and finds Jock and they learn from each other’s different perspectives. I’m not quite sure why I’m so drawn to this film. It is light hearted but also has a deeper meaning, as most animated children’s movies do. I happen to also have a Cocker Spaniel so maybe that is why I’m a little biased. One fun fact about this animation is that Lady was actually a real dog owned by a Disney writer, Joe Grant.

About Thirty years after “Lady and the Tramp”, another magical film was released, “Fox and the Hound”. This is a movie that a lot of people know pretty well. The movie starts off when Tod (The Fox) mother is killed. He is taken in by Widow Tweed, who has a neighbor that owns a hound dog around the same as Tod, Copper. The story honestly had a pretty sad ending but I found it highly entertaining as a kid. A fun fact about “Fox and the Hound” that you probably don’t know is, The bear’s snarl is the same snarl used for Shere Khan in the “Jungle Book”.

Only about six years after “Lady and the Tramp”, another movie that really made viewers fall in love with dogs was, “One Hundred and One Dalmatians”. It is about a litter of Dalmations that are being abducted by the minions of Cruella De Vil. The owners and parents of the puppies are in a hurry to find the precious puppies before she makes them into some sort of fashion statement. I love this film because it is based in Paris so it seems magical and romantic but the story is actually the complete opposite. One fun fact about this film is, There are more than six million spots on this movie.

An all time favorite but sometimes forgotten film, Dumbo. This movie is about an elephant with huge ears. The moral of this story is very important for children to learn and this is we should not discourage anyone just because of the ways he or she looks on the outside. A fun fact about this movie is Dumbo originally had a sidekick which was a mouse.

Last but certainly not least, “Aristocats”. This film was released in nineteen seventeen and was created by Walt Disney. This movie, In my opinion, is very similar to “One Hundred and One Dalmatians”. Both movies are set in Paris, France and Both female characters Perdita, the Dalmation and Dutchess, the cat are both owned by very prim and proper people. Both “high class” pets, along with their owners end up falling in love with the “more rough around the edges” owners and their pets. A fun fact about “Aristocats” is it is inspired by the true story of a Parisian family of cats, who inherited a fabulous fortune.
