King Of Hearts Concert

By: Hannah-Grace Hagood

If you like Christian music, the Brandon Lake “King Of Hearts” concert is the right one for you. It starts with Franni Cash and her amazing voice. After Franni Cash, Brandon Lake comes in and sings songs like “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” “Graves Into Gardens,” and “That’s Who I Praise.” My personal  favorite being “That’s Who I Praise.” Lets just say I lost my voice a little bit and my hearing no longer existed. Every now and then Brandon Lake read verses from the Bible that related to certain songs and prayed which I thought was fun. However, I would not recommend this concert if you do not like flashing lights and loud noises; right as the concert started the lights were flashing and the music was loud. At the beginning of the concert, they give you bracelets that light up and flash at a certain time during the concert.

As a person who plays guitar, I can personally say it was amazing. Brandon Lake is also from South Carolina, which I found interesting because I am too. The concert started at 7 and ended at 11 so I was so tired after. I slept on the car ride home. However, it was hard to sleep with all of the songs I had stuck in my head; I still have some songs stuck in my head. Overall, the concert was a ten out of ten for me and I would love to go to another one. So if this sounds interesting to you, I would definitely recommend going to the “King Of Hearts” concert; unless you do not like loud noises and flashing lights. Other than that, I would one hundred percent recommend going and checking his tour dates and places. It was one of the best concerts I have ever gone to.

Charlie Kirk

By: Burns Bateman

Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was tragically shot and killed on September 10, 2025, during a campus event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The event, part of his “American Comeback Tour,” was held under a tent with signs that read “Prove Me Wrong,” designed to spark political debate among students. According to eyewitnesses, the shooting happened suddenly, with Kirk collapsing as panic spread through the crowd. Emergency personnel responded quickly, but he later died from his injuries. A person of interest was initially taken into custody but was later released after investigators found no connection. Authorities now believe the shooter may have fired from a nearby building, and the case remains under active investigation. Kirk’s death has sparked an outpouring of grief from both supporters and critics, with statements coming from across the political spectrum, including a tribute from former President Donald Trump. The incident has reignited national conversations about political violence, public safety, and the risks faced by controversial figures engaging in live events.

Prior to the shooting, Kirk’s presence on campus had already stirred tension. Students organized protests and circulated petitions objecting to his views, but the university defended his right to speak, citing the importance of free expression in academic settings. Now, the focus has shifted to how such a tragedy could have occurred and what it says about the current state of political discourse in the country. Many are calling for a reevaluation of security protocols at campus events and urging leaders to take a stronger stance against all forms of political violence. The motive behind the shooting is still unknown, but its impact is undeniable. Charlie Kirk’s death is not only a personal loss for those close to him but also a troubling sign of deepening division in American society. As the investigation continues, the country is left to reflect on the consequences of rising polarization and the urgent need to protect both free speech and public safety.

Electric v Gas Cars

By: Campbell Cromer

While electric cars are often said to be the future of transportation, there are several reasons why they may not be the best choice for everyone or even the environment. First, electric vehicles are often advertised as zero-emission, but this doesn’t tell everything. The electricity required to charge electric vehicles is still largely produced by fossil fuels, so while they may not emit pollutants directly, they still contribute to the carbon emissions indirectly. Also, the production of the high powered batteries, which power electric vehicles relies on mining rare metals like cobalt and lithium. Mining these resources is harmful to the environment and often raises issues around labor practices.

Electric vehicles are also greatly less convenient than their gas-powered parts. While the number of charging stations is expanding, it still falls in comparison to the accessibility of gas stations. Charging an electric vehicle takes significantly longer than filling up a gas car, even with the newest fast-charging stations . For people who drive long distances or don’t have access to home charging setups, this can be a major challenge to the owners of electric vehicles. There is something called range anxiety where people are scared to run out of charge while on the road. Range anxiety is real, and running out of charge is a larger problem to solve than running out of gas.

The upfront cost of an electric vehicle is often higher than the price of a traditional gas car. While people argue that electric vehicles save money on fuel and maintenance, these savings are generally seen over a long period of time, and not everyone drives enough to see the benefits.

Finally, gas cars have just a little over a century of engineering on them. They are efficient, reliable, and adaptable. Electric vehicles might be new and what everyone wants, but their effects, hidden environmental impact, and high cost make them a questionable option when buying a new car for the average driver today. Gas cars on the other hand, remain a practical and dependable option no matter what.

My Top 10 Things

By: McKenzie Gray Mills

On the second week of top ten things, I’m going to be talking about my favorite fast food restaurant. Which is obviously Chick-fil-a. Chick-fil-a is very popular for their good food, but also for their family friendly atmosphere. From breakfast to dinner they sell a variety of options to satisfy their customers. While they continue to strive with quick service and good food they also continue to stay true to their roots. Their purpose is “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.” The phrase “my pleasure” is commonly connected to this restaurant. Their website says, “Over the years, “my pleasure” has become much more than a phrase – it embodies Chick-fil-A’s commitment of creating remarkable experiences, one interaction at a time.” This phrase is just another example of how this fast food place has created such a great reputation. There’s also a rumor that if a worker doesn’t respond to thank you with my pleasure that the customer receives a free ice cream. This is why Chick fi la is one of my favorite places.

Why Rainbow Six Siege is a horribly great game

By: Joseph Bauman

Rainbow six siege is a first person shooter game where teams of five versus five fight for a selected number of rounds swapping between attacking and defense. Siege is seen as one of gaming’s most competitive games with the fact each round you only have one life. This makes players take the game very seriously especially in the ranked game mode. The game would be a great success if it wasn’t for the changes made to the game over time. Siege has changed how the ranked system works, basing it off of winning compared to skill which lets players get ranks they shouldn’t have, because of them being carried. The game’s hit registration also has significantly dropped with clear headshots counting as a body shot, resulting in you dying and the other player living with minimal damage. Siege also has its good side with the ability to play with friends on any platform like playstation, xbox, and pc. It also lets players have a sense of progression with the leveling system allowing you to earn in-game currency which allows you to buy new characters, each with a unique ability. Siege is a great game to play with friends for a limited time until the game seems like working a nine to five job just to play one match. Everyone should try siege at least once even if they never play it again.

Why the Packers are going to win the Super Bowl.

By Connor Hanson

When I look at the packers I see a really young team that has completely filled out the shoes that they are expected to. They had no expectations at the beginning of the year due to an injury filled wide receiver room while still being really young, and an unproven quarterback that had a rough first couple starts in the absence of Aaron Rodgers.

Last weekend the Packers played the Dallas Cowboys, which were the favorites to win the game on every website that does odds. And why wouldn’t they be, they had to play against the most lousy run defenses I’ve ever had the chore of watching, while combining with a quarterback with no playoff experience. Despite all this the Packers shocked the world and pummeled the Cowboys in an avalanche of scoring due to effortless throws by Jordan love.

This weekend the Packers matchup with one of the most explosive offenses of all time in the San Francisco 49ers. Offense is going to have to win the Packers this game, because the 49ers are going to put up points either way, we are just going to have to score more.
