Rating Seasons

  1. Summer

Summer has to be the best season because there is no school. The weather is hot and it is the perfect time for going to the beach and vacations. The beach is definitely my favorite place to go, and I have a permanent tan for 3 months. Also, the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I can hang out with my friends a lot more during the week, and I don’t have to worry about school or homework. I do have painting for cheer, though, but it allows me to see my friends and doesn’t last but 2 hours in the morning. I also love spending time on the lake and going boating, and playing pickleball with friends.

  1. Fall

Although it’s the beginning of the school year, fall has the best sports. Football season is the best time of year, and you always have something to look forward to during the weekends. Cheering for football is one of my favorite things, and we organize fun pep rallies. The weather is not too hot and not too cold, and all the trees are turning different colors. It is also Halloween and Thanksgiving. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I have a tradition of going to Kreepy Hallow every year with my friends. I usually go to the mountains with family for Thanksgiving, so it is a good time to gather with family and friends.

  1. Winter

Although it is cold out, winter has some great seasons. Christmas is my favorite season because we get to celebrate Jesus’s birth with friends and family, and we get Christmas break. New Year’s is also one of my favorites because we get a fresh start, and I always spend New Year’s Eve with my friends. It brings me so much joy to see Christmas decorations and go look at Christmas lights. It is also my birthday in the wintertime. And if we are lucky, Sumter may get some snow.

  1. Spring

I don’t enjoy spring that much. Everyone is ready to get out of school and there aren’t really any exciting sports to watch besides baseball. I usually am sick all season because of the pollen. The only thing that is good about spring to me is Spring Break, and it starts to warm up some. Also, it’s not daylight savings anymore.

My Favorite Things: Springtime

By: McKenzie Gray Mills

This week I’ll be talking about springtime at Wilson Hall. This is definitely my favorite time of the year. It is warm outside and there are so many fun things going on. Track season is at its peak. We have practice everyday and meets once a week. At the end of a hard practice on Friday we get popsicles. It’s such a rewarding treat.

Then spring break. Everyone from Wilson Hall goes to Litchfield. It is such a bonding experience. We go to the beach all day and play spike ball, tan, and swim in the ocean. My favorite activity is to play volleyball on the beach. We all make a huge circle and see how long we can keep it from hitting the ground.

The week after spring break is prom. This is the most stressful but fun night. You go to school for the day then rush to get ready. You take pictures for what feels like hours. Then go to dinner. The seniors have a sit down dinner. Next is the actual prom. The juniors decorate it to a certain theme and surprise the seniors. After prom you have about 30 minutes to change into more casual clothes and then go to breakfast. This is a fun tradition. Prom will always be a night to remember.

It’s also just fun to attend the baseball and soccer games. After a long day at school and track, then go home for a little then go to a game with all your friends. Getting food from the concessions and cheering on your friends. The stands are full of laughter.

Those are just a few of the reasons I love springtime. I’ll miss pretty much everything about Wilson hall. The things in the spring time I’ll cherish the most. From being in the sun all day with friends to ending the day with friends. In the spring the flowers bloom and it starts to warm up. This is just the preview of how summer will be.

The Spring Season

By: Alexis Dawkins

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. It is the start of warmer weather and flowers blooming and people want to do more outdoor activities. Spending more time outdoors is better for your health and if you are anything like me, you do not want to be outside in the cold. In spring you can start swimming and going to the beach and/or lake and making family memories that will last forever.

Easter is in the springtime, a time to celebrate Jesus. This is a day to get up and go to church then have lunch/dinner and spend the day with family. Around this time is spring break for most people. At Wilson Hall, most of the high school students stay in Litchfield. This gives everyone a chance to spend a week with their friends and make lifetime memories.

Since it is not so cold, the people that like to hike and bike ride start doing that again. Even people that just ride bikes around the neighborhood with their kids start taking them out and teaching them these things and how to have fun outside. During spring you will see a lot of people start walking around their neighborhood or nearby parks, walking their dogs or just getting their kids out of the house.

Spring overall is one of the best times of the year. It is also when everything starts to bloom and birds start flying and the air just feels better. You can walk outside and feel the nice fresh air instead of walking outside and freezing. Some people like being cold but I can not stand it so I promise that I will be inside in winter but in spring, summer, and part of fall I will be spending time in the fresh air. Spring overall is one of the best times of the year.
