What is the Best Fast Food Spot in Sumter

By: Braelen Lewis

What is the best fast food spot in Sumter South Carolina is a very hard question to answer to someone who is not very knowledgeable on the subject but to me it is just blatantly obvious. The fast food locations in Sumter South Carolina are split into the burger joints, chicken joints, and Mexican American places. Of the Burger joints in Sumter i would have to say that the top three are surprising the Habit because yes it is not very popular for being a newer restaurant in the area the burgers are quite delicious. In the number two spot I would have to say belongs to Five guys because their fries, milk shakes, and burgers are absolutely heavenly but to me it falls short of number one for one reason: the absurd price. At number one unsurprisingly is McDonald’s because it’s cheap and their quarter pounders and wide variety of options make this the absolute go to burger spot in Sumter. Of the chicken joints in Sumter I would have to say the big contest is between either Bojangles, Zaxbys, or ChicFila but to me it’s not even a close debate. Bojangles is obviously the best option for chicken in Sumter. Its prices are low, they have great chicken, and they have the absolute best breakfast biscuits in the South. Between the Mexican Fast food options in Sumter there is the classic Taco Bell which is cheap and always reliable, Chipotle which offers some of the best authentic Mexican food in Sumter, and then there’s Moe’s which has almost the same options as Chipotle does. In my opinion however one of these far surpasses the others, Moes is the absolute best option out of these three because of the stack, their queso, their guacamole, and their perfect selection of beverages. Therefore the best fast food option in Sumter is between Mcdonalds, Bojangles, and Moe’s. Now although these places are all equally great to me, one stands out further than the others and that place is Moes because yes it is a more pricey option than the others the atmosphere and the absolute assurance that the food will always be fresh and delicious makes it my number one fast food choice in Sumter.

My Favorite Things

By: McKenzie Gray Mills

This week on my series of favorite things, I’ll be talking about Sumter younglife. I’ve been attending every young life event I can since the beginning of junior year. Young life has had such a big impact on my life and the person I’m becoming.

Since the first day I walked through the club doors, I knew it would be a fit for me. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The young life leaders came running up to me eager to meet a new face.

This past summer, I went to Windy Gap with my young life group. It was truly the best week of my life. When you’re a newbie at camp the phrase you hear on the daily is “it’s hard to say”. But after experiencing a life changing week like that. The phrase might be one of the most true sayings. Young Life camp offers teenagers an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, fun, and personal growth. It is a space for young people to explore their faith, build friendships, and reflect on their lives in a supportive environment. There were so many different things to do and no one was ever bored. During the day we swam, went ziplining, and did many competitive activities. By the time we hit the bed it went dead silent because everyone was so worn out. This summer I plan to attend another summer camp. As well as going to another camp to help with the work crew.

Sumter young life will hold such a special place in my life. From all of the people that make it so unique to all the memories I’ve made that will last a lifetime. As I continue my journey somewhere else. I still plan to find a new younglife to get involved with. It may not be Sumter younglife, but any younglife is something everyone deserves to experience.

Which Sumter-Born Pitcher will have a better 2024 season: JP Sears or Jordan Montgomery

By: Tucker Burnette

Which Sumter made pitcher will have the better season? JP Sears vs Jordan Montgomery.

Sumter South Carolina is very prideful in their two big leaguers, especially when both are top pitchers not only on their teams but in the MLB. Last season, JP was the ace on the Oakland Athletics and Jordan was the Texas Rangers go to guy in their World Series win. Before the big money and wins began to roll in for these two, both began their careers as lefty dealers for the New York Yankees this is just one of the parallels in their careers. After they started their careers at the Yankees they were both traded, JP has found his role at the Athletics and Jordan has bounced around from team to team despite having success.

With both pitchers being successful the comparisons are rolling in as to which pitcher will be the most successful next season. The obvious answer is Jordan just because he will more than likely land on a team that will be able to give him more support than the Athletics are able to give JP.

Who wins the most games does not determine who has the best season, it’s all about the stats. Although the stats may be closer than many think, I personally think that the edge still goes to Jordan once again because of the supporting cast he will have playing defense for him.

Baseball is an extremely unpredictable game so honestly no one really can decide who will be the better pitcher based on the previous numbers or even the preseason. So the verdict is still out as to who will be the better pitcher.

Report: Red Sox linked to free agent pitcher Jordan Montgomery
